A free online poker competition is being advertised at Cape Breton University and the administration seems to be okay with it. The online poker room supporting the online poker tournaments is offering prizes to the students every week, including the top prize - having their tuition paid for. The tuition fee is $5,660, not an insignificant amount to a college student, and because students don’t have to pay to play, the student union feels that there is little risk that playing in the events would support an online gambling addiction.
