Sheriff Convicted of Poker Bribe Taking

A conviction was handed down recently for former Buncombe County Sheriff Bobby Medford, and as a result he will spend the next decade and a half behind bars. The 15 year conviction was for charges related to bribe taking, with the bribes coming from video poker operators. Video poker is illegal in North Carolina if the games pay out a cash prize…
