Yahoo UK has joined forces with Boss Media and the International Poker Network to offer poker to its customers in response to a growing demand. With Yahoo UK users looking for a way to play poker for free in a stable and familiar environment, the companies joined forces to utilize Boss Media’s experience in providing gambling software and Yahoo UK’s understanding of its customer base to provide a poker product. Yahoo is also going to produce instructional videos and interactive guides in tandem with Endemol Gaming.

College Crowd Tries Poker at Penn
College kids and poker have never been strangers, but with the poker boom still in full swing years after it began, it is no wonder that colleges are actually organizing poker tournaments, such as the one that took place in April at Penn College. The free poker tournament, part of an outreach program designed to build a sense of community around the school, drew a healthy crowd and lasted around five hours, crowning Brandon Bellis as the champion of the day, the number one finisher of the multi table tourney.

Kenny Rogers Gambles on Poker Site
The man perhaps best known for the country and western song “The Gambler” is cashing in on that notoriety to launch a poker website called the Gambler Poker Club. Kenny Rogers, of Kenny Rogers Roasters fame - a fried chicken restaurant chain started in 1991 - launched the Gambler Poker Club as a spot for US players to play poker for free, even though they can win valuable prizes. Among the prizes being offered are a seat to the 2007 World Series of Poker, a seven night cruise, and a trip for two to Las Vegas.
